The younger cousins go back through the "gate" to retrieve the item that Emmeline had left. She smartly identifies each by including the first letter of their last names (thankfully they each have a different initial) and find that each one has a distinct characteristic that helps to distinguish them one from another. I've found a copy online and can't wait to see if I remembered any of the story correctly--I mostly remembered the pictures. The books have also been very popular among children and teenagers in Slovakia under the name of 'Traja pátrači' where the books were published by Mladé Letá. 74 books have been translated, but not in order of original release.[ citation needed ] In the French, Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian and Italian version of the series, the books were at one time published with Alfred Hitchcock listed as their author.

This book is an important part of my childhood. The Reigning Cats and Dogs Cozy Mystery Series is written by Cynthia Baxter, and features (former) Dr. The book is about 100 pages long, packed with scientific information, written in collaboration with scientists at the La Brea site (though for purposes of dramatization the racoons are somewhat anthropomorphized), and with highly detailed illustrations. The series was well-received, but was halted during 1990, when legal disagreements between Random House and the heirs of the Arthur estate could not be resolved.

I stumbled across the Stump the Bookseller section while I was looking for a replacement for a copy of the Maxton "My Book of Cinderella" (it's falling apart). I too had fond memories of this story and the enchanting pictures, and I tracked it down several years ago. It was Dodie putting on her cloak.
